Cheryle Yin-Lo is of Australian-Chinese background. She is an arts & cultural consultant with about twenty years of years working in the arts & community sector in Australia and overseas. Her original training was in visual arts, arts education and teaching English as a Second language (ESL). She has a wide range of skills and experience in visual arts & performing arts. She specializes in community cultural development in cross cultural and interdisciplinary projects working with diverse communities including Indigenous communities. Cheryle has a BA Visual Arts (Sydney College of the Arts), Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary Art) from Sydney Institute of Education English as a Second Language(Sydney Technical College) , Graduate Diploma in Asian Studies (Chinese) and Graduate Diploma in Arts Management (UTS). Cheryle has a Certificate IV in Assessment & Training and recently completed a course in Evaluating Community Cultural Development projects with CCDNSW. Her overseas work has included teaching English language in Nanjing, China and she was the co-founder of Drik Third world Picture Library in Dhaka, Bangladesh and received an Asialink Arts Management residency in Singapore. Cheryle is also a member of the Australian Business Womens Network and has recently completed the Mentornet program for small business. She was a mentor for WSROC’s Young Womens Leadership Program. She has been involved as board member for organisations such as Playworks, Urban Theatre Projects, Sydney Arts Management Group and volunteer organizations such as the Australia Tibet Council. As an artist, Cheryle is a member of the National Association for Visual Arts (NAVA) and regularly exhibits with the Sydney Printmakers and the Blue Mountains Artists Company in regional, metropolitan and overseas galleries. Her works are also held in private collections.
